Corey Williams Slammers Pitching & Conditioning Coach
A former relief pitcher in the Minnesota Twins system, Corey just recently retired from professional baseball after a six-year career (up to Double-A). After being drafted in the 3rd Round of the MLB Draft in 2011, Corey led the whole Minnesota Twins organization in saves (17), and was voted in as an (Midwest League) All-Star (2012). The following season, Corey earned a spot as a Mid-Season All-Star in the Florida State League (A+). In 2014, Corey underwent Tommy John Surgery that kept him out all year; however, he took advantage of the extra time by finishing his Bachelor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. He finished his minor league career with the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. Prior to his time with the Twins, Corey played for Vanderbilt University where he was part of two Super Regional teams, and in 2011 went to the College World Series for the first time in Vanderbilt’s team history. It was also here when Corey found out he was drafted by the Twins.

Corey has had the privilege to learn and be coached under some of the brightest pitching minds in the game, including Derek Johnson, who is now the Pitching Coach for the Milwaukee Brewers. Corey has a wealth of knowledge in developing arm strength/speed programs, as well as arm care programs to prevent injury and fatigue. Corey is excited to work with up and coming pitchers to better their craft, and teach the importance of sportsmanship and being a team player.
