Lukas McKnight
Catching/Skills Coach
Lukas McKnight is a Libertyville resident and native. A 4-year varsity starting catcher for the Wildcats, he was a 2-time all-state selection and state player of the year in 1998. After playing collegiately at the University of Kansas and Triton College, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and caught 5 years in their minor league system (reaching AA).
Lukas then transitioned off-field to an area scout for the Cubs, first in the Ohio Valley and then in South Florida, then crosschecked the northeast. For the last 7 drafts, he's worked out of the Cubs front office as the assistant director of amateur scouting. He's coached at the youth level as well as assisting in the East Coast Pro Showcase and the Florida Diamond Club. He's spoken at numerous events, including the IHSBCA Coach's Clinic and the Under Armour All American Game.
