Mason graduated from Mundelein High School where he played baseball and summer ball at Slammers. Following graduation, Mason attended Triton College and Morton College where he played a combined three seasons of junior college baseball. He then attended Mount Mercy University, finishing his playing career and pursuing a bachelors degree in sports management. Currently the assistant coach at Harper College where he works with the catchers and hitters.
