Neal attended Illinois State University, where he played all 4
years as a Pitcher. Neal was drafted in 2001 by the Oakland Athletics,
and was soon traded to the Chicago White Sox about a year later in
December of 2002 where he played for a total of 4 seasons with the South
Siders. Neal also pitched for the Chicago Cubs on the North Side of
town for 3 years.
During his tenure with the White Sox, Neal enjoyed a career year in
2005 when the White Sox won the World Series. Neal's career best ERA of
1.94 with 69 appearance, totalling 60 & 1/3 innings pitched and 58
