Coach Kleeman, HS and College Players

Coach Mike Kleemann
Twitter: @coachdadmk

Mike has coached a number of sports over the years including baseball, basketball and softball. He has been around softball for many years following his family and friends in high school and playing D1/2 and 3 college softball. When his oldest daughter Maddy decided she wanted to "try" softball at the age of 7 he was asked to coach by the Mundelein Stampede travel program. He was proud to coach the team from 2017-2023 in nearly 400 games. He and his coaches developed a group of girls that were eager to learn, develop a softball IQ, and importantly have fun. They started as a park district all-star team and the athletes are now all in high school competing on their varsity teams at 5 different area high schools.

In stepping away from coaching for now, he has continued to work with younger softball players through the relationships he has built with families in the area and enjoys giving catching, hitting and fielding lessons. His daughter Maddy is a 2026 catcher at Libertyville High School, a starter on the 2023 and 2024 regional championship teams she is looking forward to her final two years at LHS. She also plays for Dennison Silver Hawks, a travel organization in the west suburbs playing in college exposure tournaments.

She plans to major in education, with a minor in coaching.
